Privacy notice
How Mafuthi Foundation looks after your personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What we collect
We only collect what you give us through our forms:
- Organisation registrations: your organisation's details, the contact person's name, role, email and mobile number, what your organisation does, its compliance status and the support you would like.
- Contact and donor enquiries: your name, organisation (if given), email, phone number (if given) and your message.
We do not ask for ID numbers or bank details through this website. To protect our forms from abuse we keep a scrambled (one-way hashed) version of your internet address, not the address itself.
Why we collect it
To assess your registration, reply to your enquiry and contact you about Mafuthi's work with your organisation. If you tick the WhatsApp box, we may also contact you on WhatsApp.
Who sees it
Only authorised Mafuthi Foundation staff who handle registrations and enquiries. We do not sell your information. We will not share it with anyone else without your permission unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the reasons above. The exact retention period is to be confirmed and will be published here.
Your rights
You may ask to see the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Email info@mafuthifoundation.org.za.
Information Officer
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
